Sprocket is actively seeking a friendly, analytical and detail-oriented Community Manager who will help us engage the community by creating a great member experience while executing event planning and operational tasks with excellence.

Who We Are

Sprocket was founded as an innovation lab for tech-based education and entrepreneurial endeavors. Since then we have focused our efforts on economic development for the digital economy by enabling access to adult and youth coding training programs, company creation with startup support and competitions, and soon we will offer a co-work space at the Coke Plant for tech-enabled businesses, remote workers, and entrepreneurs.

The Community Manager is responsible for community engagement initiatives and the day-to-day operations at the coworking space, provides support to members, and directly impacts membership growth and retention. You’ll be a great fit for this role if you:

What You’ll Do

The Community Manager is responsible for community engagement initiatives and the day-to-day operations at the coworking space, provides support to members, and directly impacts membership growth and retention. You’ll be a great fit for this role if you:

 

  • Manage communications and relationships with members at the coworking space.
  • Greet guests and drop-ins to the coworking space and provide tours and membership information to prospective members.
  • Master our software platforms used for billing, door access, event management, and reservable resource management.
  • Ensure the coworking space remains clean by straightening up and educating members to clean up after themselves.
  • Ensure smooth, day-to-day operations of the coworking space including tasks such as
    brewing coffee, stocking office supplies, taking out the trash, or managing maintenance and repair needs.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies for the coworking space.
  • Receive and deliver mail and packages to coworking members.
  • Execute monthly events for the markets we operate in that draw in new members and allow current members to network and connect.
  • Help plan and manage the budget for events and community engagement initiatives.
  • Plan other community engagement activities, such as special holiday events, decorations, etc.
  • Market and advertise our coworking space and events on Slack and through other local marketing channels.
  • Keep event financials and timelines under control at all times.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

  • General understanding of Sprocket’s vision and mission

  • Degree and/or experience in hospitality management or public relations

  • Proven experience in event planning or event coordination in a corporate environment

  • Track record of creative, successful events

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure without losing a customer-service oriented attitude

  • Acute attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment, taking input and feedback from multiple stakeholders

  • Willingness to contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed

Compensation

  • Paid training.
  • The pay range for this position is $14-$16 per hour based on experience and performance.
