What is Lemonade Academy?

Paducah/McCracken County parents: does your child possess amazing powers of negotiation? Exhibit a Montgomery Burns-like talent for shrewd decision making? Frequently attempt to act as CEO of the house?

Fret no more!

Lemonade Academy is a program that teaches kids grades 3rd through 8th leadership and business skills by training them to launch and operate a lemonade stand.

Sprocket, the McCracken County Public Library, RISE West Kentucky, and the Paducah Area Chamber stand ready to help. Channel all that raw entrepreneurial energy in the right direction this summer when you enroll your budding tycoon in the first ever session of Lemonade Academy.

Lemonade Academy is a program that teaches kids grades 3rd through 8th leadership and business skills by training them to launch and operate a lemonade stand. They’ll enjoy courses like Business 101, Lemonade Mixology, Marketing/Branding and Promotion as well as Stand Construction Theory from an impressive panel of local presenters over the course of two super fun Saturday workshops.

How does it work?

We’ll pair them with an expert mentor from the Chamber of Commerce, make sure they get a “business license”, school them in art of food safety, and help them pick the perfect place from which to pitch their product.

Lemonade Academy

Then, on Lemonade Saturday, June 22nd from 9 a.m. to noon(ish), we’ll promote their stand location—where an adult must be present at all times—and cheer them on to total market dominance (or at least better business skills).

Best of all Lemonade Academy is absolutely FREE, but limited to the first 30 participants that sign up here, so don’t delay.

Students who complete both workshops will receive an OFFICIAL Lemonade Academy tee-shirt to wear on the big day.

Also…other gifts! And lots of surprises! And (shhh) maybe even a bonus event.

When is it?

Workshop dates are as follows:

  • Saturday, May 11th 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at McCracken County Public Library, 555 Washington Street.
  • Saturday, June 8th 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Sprocket, 3121 Broadway.
